Sending A Mass Text Message

To send a mass text message, you’ll navigate to the PEOPLE tab.

Simply select the contacts you want to send a message to. If selecting all, it’s important to note, the select all will only select the page of contacts unless you click the little link that says “select all X amount of contacts.” (See screenshot below.)

Once you select the contacts you want to send a mass text message to, simply click the “SEND SMS” button in the toolbar.

You will be prompted with this warning message:

This warning message will let you know of two things:
1) If you have any other messages scheduled currently so you don’t accidentally send out two messages at the same time or about the same thing.

2) A note that lets you know that it may take a few minutes for all of the text messages to be sent.

You’re now ready to send a mass text message.

You can type the messages and either send now, or schedule to send at a later date.

It’s important to use some of these best practices to avoid carrier spam filters:

  1. Personalize the message. Using the MERGE FIELDS (little price tag icon) will allow you to input the contacts first name.

Example: Hey {{contact.first_name}}! We can’t wait to see you this Friday night at our Night of Worship. It begins at 7:00pm at our South Campus. ~ Your Church Name/Your Name

This will automatically input each contact’s first name to personalize the message to them.
  2. The second important thing is signing your name or church name.

This is just a great way to show who is sending the message, and carriers like that.
